This service helps people to have a comfortable and safe home environment.
The service aims to address the detrimental impact of
reduced water usage and
anxiety due to utility bills
Working alongside the NHS and Medical Professionals, we help to address the issues that will speed up recovery and help you receive the advice and assistance needed, reducing the necessity for readmission to hospital.
The advisers will help patients apply to be on the Priority Services Register – meaning that they will receive additional support should they experience a power cut or water shortage.
As well as help with utilities, our advisors will also make sure that people receive the benefits to which they are entitled.
In addition to helping people being discharged from hospitals, the service is also provided to other vulnerable people referred by the NHS, or who approach Citizens Advice.
Clients will have:
An assessment of their home circumstances regarding fuel poverty
A check of their other needs such as their finances, housing and other support they may require.
Where necessary the client will be put in contact with specialist partners within their local community to ensure they are provided with the "wrap around" support they need.
